Enjoyed this Mancunian gangsta romp from start to finish. Karen Woods is a tremendous writer. As always the narration was great, especially the Helen!

Loved this!

loved the characterisation by Stewart he got the voices spot on for Helen in particular. Ended as if there may be a sequel, i hope so.

very well read

Really great listen, I’m a huge fan of Karen Woods now and I can’t wait to start the next one! My only gripe is the use of sat and stood when on most occasions it should be sitting and standing, but then again, I’m a bit like the grammar police haha

Another great story!

I did listen all the way through and quite enjoyed it but what was lacking for me was even a single character I liked or felt sympathy for. Every character displayed the worst of human nature and all got their come uppance but I really didn’t care as they were all such despicable human beings. To really be invested in a story I need to care about the characters and these left me cold. The narrator was good.

Disappointing view of humanity

I thought I'd read/ listened to all of karen woods books, so was really pleased I'd found this. she didn't disappoint me. Amazing as all of Karen's books are.

The possible reality of the story

This author really brings to life what it's like for many inner city estates in the U.K. It was a good read, I just felt a little short changed by the abruptness of the ending but that could just be me not picking up the message she wanted to convey. looking forward to trying the next title so it certainly hasn't put me off.

promising first sample

A torrid story of vile people doing vile things to each other. Graphic stomach churning descriptions of excrement. Coarse foul language and not one character with a single redeeming quality. I stuck with it till the end as I was hoping for something good to happen but it didn’t. Think after this I’d like to listen to something light, fun and fluffy

Superb narration but that’s all

I stopped listening at chapter 8 due to the poor narration, story sounded like it had been written by a teenager and absolutely lacked any substance

Awful
