About this listen
"When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but really loves you, then you become real." First published in 1922, Margery Williams' enchanting story about a toy rabbit is a classic of children's literature. This gentle rendition comes alive through Meryl Streep's soothing narration and George Winston's beautiful music score. Ages four and up.
Public Domain (P)2016 Rabbit Ears Entertainment, LLCMeryl Street has a very lovely voice & it really settles you can really relax listening to the music and Meryl.

I too have a little bunny stuffed with straw that has velvet ears - once pink inside but now a faded brown. BunBun smells musty, has one glass eye & is almost 60 years old but he has been loved. I also had an excerpt from The Velveteen Rabbit read at my wedding in 2022, so it was lovely to relive the story on many levels.
Meryl Streep's voice is soothing, but I've only given 'The Velveteen Rabbit' three stars overall due to the 'background' music that sometimes obliterates the narration & is rather annoying in an otherwise perfect little tale of childhood & innocence.
Lovely
