Brilliant way to continue the story, ace narration
It is so nice to get the second in a series of audiobooks and be excited to listen to the narrator. Hannibal Hills does such a good job with the voices I forget that there's only one of him!
Oh boy what have they gotten themselves into? I really didn't see what happened coming. I love the way this book picks up where the last book left off. The twists and turns kept me completely involved and I spent a lot of time guessing what was going to happen next. I also spent some time shouting at the characters! I think I managed to keep breathing as the book progressed, bit it was difficult at times to remember to breathe. A heads up, don't get too attached to the characters! I really enjoyed listening to this. I hope it carries on as I have to know what happens next.

Interesting
The first thing to note about book two in ''The Forsaken'' trilogy is that the first five hours are rather tedious, it starts out just fine with Father Stephen venturing through the gate in the Lickey HIlls but rather goes downhill from there until around five hours in when it picks up a little more speed and finally becomes really interesting at around eight and a half hours. The first section is mostly interplay between Jake, his family and some other interested parties, it builds the story though so this is all required material to lead us into the main part of the story which has a very exciting but quite abrupt finale.
The second thing to note about this book is that there is considerably more swearing than in the first book, this does not bother me but may bother some.
The third thing to note is that the writing style is not always perfect, it contains lines such as ' you're even stupider than I thought' and this line was uttered by Father Stephen who is an educated man so it's not in character.
The final thing to note is that Mr Hills narrates it perfectly again, so the first five hours fly by and I cannot wait for book three to be released in audio because I simply have to listen to it.
I received my copy free of charge in exchange for my frank and honest review.

The Turning
The Turning which is the 2nd book in the series is more dark than the first book. More worlds. More vampires. I like how the story continued. How the characters were drawn closer.

Through The Doorway To Terror
Once again we must go through the doorway into the darkened world of horror where terror exists at every turn. Vampires, humans, a witch and others combine to create this reality with great characters, a plot line constantly twisting and turning to keep the listener fully engaged. The narration brings everything to life. It is all here, adventure, love, loss, terror and an enticing ending.

Excellent
Phil Price has given a great follow on with this book.
All the characters (creatures included) are full blown people.
I really like the police officer, can’t comment more on him, & of course the new family is adorable, you can’t help but root for them.
The vampires, they’re in a whole other standard in these books.
I’d love to see this on tv actually I think it would play out really well. A good gripping nail biting story
The narrator does a great job, the voices & nuances just roll along.
Excellent audio & to read.

Another amazing book from Phil Price
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
The Turning starts where Unknown finishes although it could be read as a stand alone you get to know the characters if you read Unknown first.
Jake escaped the hell he was drawn into and is living happily with Katherine now his wife and they are expecting their first child.
Although his physically scars are healed his mental scars will never go away and he’s always looking behind himself and jumping at every noise and shadow in case they find him. However they do find him again and he has to do everything he can to save Katherine and their unborn child who have been taken to another dimension where evil holds no bounds .
Hannibal Hills is a brilliant narrator who and I can’t wait to read book 3 when it is available on audible.
