About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

I know you don’t know me but you have to help me. I didn’t kill anyone.

When Rowan stumbles across the advert, it seems like too good an opportunity to miss: a live-in nanny position, with a staggeringly generous salary. And when she arrives at Heatherbrae House, she is smitten by the luxurious ‘smart’ home fitted out with all modern conveniences, by the beautiful Scottish Highlands, and by this picture-perfect family.

What she doesn’t know is that she’s stepping into a nightmare – one that will end with a child dead and her in a cell awaiting trial for murder.

She knows she’s made mistakes. But she’s not guilty – at least not of murder. Which means someone else is…

Full of spellbinding menace, The Turn of the Key is a gripping modern-day haunted house novel.

A very believable story and wow, Imogen Church's narration was simply superb. I will be looking out for more audible books with her as narrator. She bought the whole story , which was a good if unusual one , to life . Brilliant

I have loved all Ruth Ware's books and rate highly Imogen's narration. This story is scary and why the nanny would be dropped on for instant sole care of the children is unbelievable. There are lots of implausible happenings and the denouement is totally incredible. Left me with lots of u answered questions

This book caught my attention from the beginning. The twists and turns were brilliant and the author portrayed the internal workings of the main character brilliantly. Couldn’t stop listening! Definitely recommend!

I really enjoyed this one. It was truly thrilling. An easy page turner that was exactly what I was in the mood for.

Thrilling

Dull and almost predictable. The first person narrative had holes throughout the novel and was quite unappealing as a protagonist.

Another "domestic noir" which failed to excite
