Summary
A trio of bloodthirsty aliens have already destroyed one world and most of their own race; now they have their eyes set on earth. Their opponents: the men and woman of E-Branch and a brand-new Necroscope!
Malevolent aliens, the Mordri Three decide to become so evil that God himself will have to stop them. They can alter flesh with a simple touch, literally turning people inside out or seeding them with cancer. The Three have already destroyed an entire solar system and most of their own race. Their next targets: mankind and Earth!
On Earth, Scott St. John is mourning his beloved wife when he is struck by a golden arrow of light—a fragment of the soul of Harry Keogh, the original Necroscope—and gains powers he does not understand. A mysterious, beautiful woman appears, desperately trying to warn Scott about something...then vanishes mid-word. Scott dreams of a very unusual Wolf, who begs him—in human speech—for rescue.
A fledgling Necroscope, a telepathic Wolf, a beautiful woman from beyond the stars, the ghost of Harry Keogh, the best of E-Branch's psychic fighting forces, and a dead girl who is not yet ready to seek her just reward must defeat three impossibly strong, psychically gifted monsters whose touch literally melts flesh from bone.

Darkly fun
I picked this up when it came out but quite inexplicably didn't read it. Can't understand how that happened. Either way it is a novel written, as ever, beautifuly by Mr Lumley. The dulcet, Richard Burton-esque tones of the magnificent Joshua Saxon perfectly bring things to life (and death) & the nature of the tale makes me wish for more tales of Harry Keogh. A fine addition to the Necroscope saga

Needed to be longer
As always with Mr Lumley - should've been longer - because I didn't want it to end!

Another Great Necroscope Book
The Touch is a bit of an oddity compared to the rest of the Necroscope series. It is the only book not to feature the Vamphyri and is the one and only tale featuring Scott St. John as the Necroscope. As with the vast majority of Lumley's work, The Touch is a cracking listen. The are thrills, spills and some quite nasty gore.
Joshua Saxon is easily my favourite audiobook narrator and he once again excels with this series.
Another winner from Crossroad Press.
Highly recommended.

Not a Typical Necroscope Story
I struggled to enjoy this Necroscope audiobook.
It wasn’t a typical one. It lacked the vampires that all the previous audiobooks had provided. Instead it featured aliens and a new Necroscope.
I found the story disjointed and so difficult to follow. It also felt unnecessarily complicated.
The audiobook was rescued by the brilliant narration of Joshua Saxon. I think if he hadn’t been the narrator. I would not have completed it.
