Loved this book I was emotionally exhausted at the end but it was worth it this author is the only one to actually make me physically cry over the unfortunate circumstances in the plot I would very much recommend don’t for get tissues

I have to say this is the third book I’ve listened to by Rebecca Yarros and although her books are slightly cheesy, they always have engaging plot lines which hook me in and make me want to read more. With regards to this book, I’m a massive fan of WW2 history (and in fact live just a couple of miles from Middle Wallop) so this was right up my street. I really enjoyed the Scarlett storyline and loved the twist at the end. The only thing I struggled with was the narrator’s terrible English accents! Overall this is a nice gentle story with a great feel good factor so definitely one to read if you want a bit of escapism.

I am starting to get in to audiobooks. I like the narrators. I only wished that the books were read like a conversation instead of the men trying to do a female voice and vice versa.

I absolutely loves the book and the characters, Rebecca knows how to grab you and pulls you in everything.

Good story spanning wartime - spoilt by the American attempt at English accents - really grateful throughout the storyline

Good Book with appalling narration

The book is mainly about Georgia who has just divorced her husband and lost her grandmother. She discovered her mother tried to sell her grams unfinished book and have another author finish it for her. Georgia was outraged and hated the idea, then comes the handsome author in question. He does everything to sway Georgia his way and to win her over.
The story interludes with the grandmother’s story and her love letters to the grandfather, giving the story another dimension. It is heartbreaking, beautiful, real and oh so sad. I cried so much and I swear my heart broke for some of the characters.
Listen to it, you won’t regret it.❤️
