Summary
Damian Stephanos honed his skills in battles fought with magic as much as swords. Caught by a deadly spell that left him trapped for centuries in darkness and obscurity, he is finally freed, only to discover that his enemy still lives. Determined to find him - and to free his brothers in arms - he first must fulfill his blood debt to the woman who released him from his torment. Unfortunately, being so close to this enticing female is another type of torment altogether....
Cassandra "Casey" Lewis is a hunter. Possessing the rare ability to sense magic, she spends most of her time shadowing arcane collectors, and more often than not, stealing the dangerous artifacts she pursues. Her job is risky, especially when she's stealing from one of the most powerful sorcerers alive. But having a gorgeous warrior by her side is a definite bonus. He's great in a fight...and in other places, too.
Risking everything, including their hearts, they're about to discover that trusting each other might be the hardest thing of all.
Contains mature themes.

Good Story! ...... but.....
.. .the Narrator has taken something away with his narration.
This is the 1st book that I have listened to to the end by this Narrator. There was another boxset that I had to delete because I really tried but just could not get through. Sadly on that one it was a combination of Narrator & possibly Author writing too many 3 word sentences, which created the opportunity for the Narrator to take a breath, and I just couldn't!
For this Audio book, I forced myself to concentrate on the story, which was written in longer sentences. I made it thru, but agree with other reviewers that sadly the experience was spoilt by the narration. 😒

Narrator ruins the book
This narrator is the worst. Since when does a ‘smooth voice...’ sound like a nasally weasel?!?!
If he’s telling the overall story his voice is fine but he still manages to loose some inflection and emotions in his storytelling, and as soon as he has to impersonate a character, the character voices he comes up with are ridiculous, you can have nasally or his version of a brute - that’s it.
I have no clue if I like this story, maybe with another narrator I’d be more invested but I’m thinking not. Such a shame. I the love Vampires in America series. This is such a let down :(
