Summary

Join the world's most famous drow elf in the penultimate chapter of the Legend of Drizzt series! Spending time in the unimaginable torture chambers of the Abyss for even a day would be enough to break even the heartiest soul, and the barbarian Wulfgar was there for years. When he returns, his friends find him a changed man, and not changed for the better. But Wulfgar's road to redemption is one he must travel on his own, even if it leads to the bottle.

Not a Drizzt novel

If you really like Wulfgar, then maybe. Drizzt does not appear in the book other than the occasional musing at the start of the chapters.
The B story is a romance story that has little to do with anything until the last quarter of the book.

I did enjoy the last section more, especially the moments focusing on Morik, who I find more interesting than Wulfgar.

It does setup event for the next book, but save a credit and read a summary.

A book about Wulfgar and an angsty teen romance

Skip this one like the other reviews tell you. Read a summary and jump to the next one.

Victor Bevine is on point, the rest ... Meh

This book drags, a lot. This review has been written 10 times over, but with little happening other than misunderstanding and people being self involved, I found myself listening just to ensure I don't miss anything referred to in later books...

Victor's voice is the only good thing

while it is good to have more story for wulfgar, I just wish that I wasn't reminded about the abyss Evey 10 minutes. just gets boring after a while.
