Having previously read the book I chose this title as an introduction to audible.
It was a great listen. Indira Varma's narration was excellent.
The only disappointing thing was that the volume of Bill Nighy's comments was lower than that of the main narration, making it a bit hard to hear at times. ,

Another fine blend of a brilliant story and narrator. This was Sir Terry’s final novel. It is beautifully sealed by Rob Wilkins’ ‘what might have been’ afterword. One small quibble - the Stephen Cree Nac Mac Feegles are brilliantly voiced but their volume levels seemed unusually low at times. I’ve now finished listening to the entire Penguin Discworld audiobooks series. They’ve all helped me appreciate still more STP’s astounding gift for voice and dialogue. Excellent. (Michael).

I waited to read this book when it first came out. Usually I would have a new Terry Pratchett book open and start reading immediately. Knowing this was the final book I wanted to keep a hold of there being one more of his books left to read for a little while longer. I caved one day by opening the book up in the shop and thinking I would just read the first two chapters. Big mistake. Sir Terry delivers the most unexpected gut punch right at the beginning up ending EVERYTHING. When Nanny Ogg said it should have been me I started crying. From that point until the end of the chapter it felt not only were we saying goodbye to such a main character, but it was eerily a good bye to Terry Pratchett too. The audio book is amazing. Indra is perfect with her voices in every witches book. She makes the characters sound like I always imagined they would. She's perfect in the role.

Reading this book is a bit of a painful experience…

Things happen that are very emotional and there are a lot of throwbacks to the entire discworld series but at every turn you feel that STP is struggling… if he had written this book at the height of his writing prowess it would have been so much better but in its not beings so we do get closer to the struggle with the embuggerance and the power and determination of the man himself

It is an immensely valuable read regardless… a crown of sorts…

The last book written by TP and it shows. It feels like a long and loving goodbye yet not morose but hopeful. Beautifully narrated and utterly engaging. Make sure you listen to the Afterword. With a hanky.

It feels weird… well, wyrd any way
Character arcs has ended and although there is so much more I want to know… it will only ever be in my head. Eldrich. Delightful, Painful. Heartbreaking. Brilliant.

Another excellent performance from the voice actors. However, particularly in the earlier chapters, the volume levels of the different performances don’t match. The Nac Mac Fegals are particularly quiet. Apart from that, great.
