Another high class offering from Tim Weaver.
I feel like David Raker is a friend I had always thought he was in his early 40s and imagined him as such especially with his young and energetic voice : however if his daughter is 33 , which I was reminded of this time round , that clearly is not the case and I will have to put a few grey hairs onto his head I I especially love the stories where the usual David Raker narrator is speaking; but when the voice was given to someone else in the other stories that was fine too. I am looking forward to “the blackbird “ next year. Thank you Tim and thank you Audible.

Not what I was expecting, I've read all his books but this fell short. Started off well , but failed to capture me.

I really enjoyed listening to this. I enjoyed the US story very much. All the stories were compelling and kept me listening but I just didn't get the end, whether that is me not listening properly, I don't know - I finished thinking I had to listen to another book to get answers, but the next book is a different stories.

Tim, you have me hooked from the opening paragraph. Having listened to you whilst laying by a pool, enjoying a long awaited holiday, you made it just perfect. Here’s hoping I don’t have to wait too long for my next “David” fix. The story line has you memorised and you never fail to tick all the boxes. Thank you for yet another “best seller”.

Mostly loved the stories though I did find the back dating of parts of the stories a bit confusing at times

Great Tim Weaver story

Being honest I only bought the book because part of it is narrated by Brendan McDonald. I could listen to him 24/7. Turns out his performance didn’t disappoint and the others were pretty strong too. The stories held their own and I will certainly be exploring Weavers other works.

Was a little bit boring in places , narrated was ok the story plodded along . I’m just listening to last 10mins while writing the review I’m waiting for the big finish. …. It didn’t happen . . Maybe this is not my normal listen so I shouldn’t really judge but there was no twists to speak of it was just ok. If you’re in the car for long journey then it will pass the miles away. You can mentally tune in and out and before you know it you’ve done Essex to Edinburgh.

Kept me entertained

With this book there is a clear woke narratives like the last 2 it is a real shame that the author has strayed from the path.
With the cliffhanger of the previous book not even mentioned it’s very disappointing. The fact that it is not a normal novel in the normal way. Rather a four part series was also disappointing. The first story was quite gripping the other three almost like a bit of a cut out of previous stories put together to make a new book which is a real shame. I hope the next one in the series goes back to its roots.

I enjoyed this story more than expected! Well narrated, easy to follow but with twists and mystery . Kept me interested all through , All in all worth the credit!

it was a great story until the US bit and I got totally lost. maybe I wasn't concentrating but less enjoyable with the 4 strands. felt like story 1 was full length and the others were shoved into 2 hours.
