Summary
Join the 27,000 people who have achieved dramatic and long-term weight loss with The Setpoint Diet, from the New York Times best-selling author of The Calorie Myth.
Your body fights to keep you within a range of about 15 pounds—also known as your "setpoint weight". New research reveals that you can lower your setpoint and end that battle for good by focusing on the quality of calories you eat, not the quantity. With The Setpoint Diet, you will reprogram your body with a 21-day plan to rev up your metabolism, eliminate inflammation, heal your hormones, repair your gut, and get your body working like that of a naturally thin person—permanently.
The Setpoint Diet is a lower-carb menu that focuses on specific anti-inflammatory whole foods, including tons of produce, nutritious proteins, and therapeutic fats. Its creator, Jonathan Bailor, founded SANESolution, a weight-loss company that has reached millions of people. Proven to help you lose weight naturally and maintain it, The Setpoint Diet is your new blueprint for healthy living.

Great science backed common sense
For me this was a great book. There is so much conflicting information out there, you never know what to believe. I will need to listen to the chapters about how cells react again but all very interesting & makes sense. Now to implement.. baby steps

Basically a low-catb diet book - disappointing
Short with annoying overly jolly narrator. I was expecting something to compliment Why We Eat too Much (Dr Andrew Jenkinson) and The Duet Myth but whilst the science is basically the same the book really boils down too 'eat lots of veg and cut out carbs". Not a sustainable lifestyle change.

Annoying Narration Dubious Ideas
The narrator speaks like an over excited child who needs to calm down.
I cannot swallow the “you’re a victim” “it’s not your fault you’re overweight, you deserve to be thin” philosophy of this book. People need to take personal responsibility for their weight. Yes it’s 100% true due to the biomechanics of set-point it is tricky to keep off weight loss, but like I have had to do to keep weight off- work a bit harder!
The fact he says “you shouldn’t be TORTURING yourself at a gym” erm...how is exercise torture? This is a dangerous mindset to put people into.
Exercise isn’t only for weight loss either. It’s for overall physical and mental well-being. And get this- alot of us actually enjoy exercise. Shock. Horror.
Honestly got through a few chapters and then returned as whilst the science is sound about set point theory and with correct diet / intermittent fasting / exercise / effort you can beat it.
Nobody “deserves” to be thin mate. You get out of life what you put in.
My advices. Buy the Obesity Code instead.
