Summary
When Cornish Nurse Eliza Hamilton is mugged on her way home from work late one evening, it is the mysterious Roman Holbrook who appears from the darkness and fights off her strange attacker. Then he disappears into the night before the police arrive, leaving a semi-conscious Eliza questioning if he was, in fact, a figment of her imagination. That is until he shows up on her doorstep one rainy night - and all hell breaks loose again. But is this man her hero, or does he have a more sinister motive for wanting her kept alive?

wow its better than good.
I was lucky enough to get a copy of this book and I'm leaving an honest and voluntary review.
Wow! its good, better than good, incredibly well written, love the dark side of humanity the author has thrown into this story, the characters themselves are fantastic, perfectly suited to this book, having not your typical zombies in this is a welcome change, the author has captured a truly remarkable sense of believability. there's not many books I rave about but is is 1 book I fell in love right away. DO Yourself a favour and get this, its brilliant.
The narration is so apt and flawless, it really brings the story with life, as to with the characters. what a winning combo.
I'm left wanting more..
Easy 5 star. brilliant.

The Sacrifice
I was given this audiobook in return for my honest opinion.
I loved the story line and the book is very well written, I would definitely listen to more of Donna's work.
I wasn't keen on the narrator for this story somehow he just didn't fit this book. There was nothing wrong with how he read the book and his voice is very soothing but for me it just didn't fit the story.

CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE
The Sacrifice was my first introduction to the work of Donna Collins – and it won’t be my last. I was gripped by the story, eloquently narrated by Andy Stevenson, so much so that I listened at every opportunity as I compelled to know what happened next. That’s the beauty of audiobooks – I can be ‘read to’ when gardening or making the dinner! And what better way, when performing otherwise mundane tasks, than listening to a scary story. Andy brought the characters to life – even the dead ones! It may be fiction, but Donna writes in a way that makes it all seem very plausible. I hope I don’t have to wait too long before the second instalment is released as an audiobook.

a good start so far
a nice start to the story so far where we focus to our two main characters, one that gets introduced to a new whole world and is confused with everything going on around. the other main character who is experienced in this new world tries figure out what hes feeling towards our other main character is and if hes feeling are just that or something more.

So so good
On her way home from work Eliza is attacked and she’s rescued by a stranger Roman Holbrook . Things start getting weird and at every turn Roman is there . Absolutely loved this there are so many twists and turns it kept me listening I didn’t want to stop so I listened all in one go. Andy Stevenson did a great job narrating and I’m looking forward to book 2.

Thriller
I really enjoyed listening to Andy Stevenson.
This is a thriller, that will keep you awake... Zombies, human sacrifice , deep reaper . Heaven in a different light. .This book has it all. If you enjoy the paranormal genre then you will love this book!
Eliza is attacked on her way home late at night, it is passed off as a mugging . When Roman checks in on Eliza’s recovery, is there more to his interest than is to be believed?
A great paranormal thriller.

The Sacrifice
Having listened to book 2 by accident first, book 1 was enlightening and refreshing. This poor young girl was born as her fathers play thing. And the fact that they all treated her so well and she felt loved until the final moments. And so many people so close to her were involved. The betrayal ran deep. The story is definitely a whirlwind. The narration fit Roman well. I’m not sure it fit her though.
