About this listen

Alastair has found the perfect partner in husband Steven. Together they've built a successful life, had a beautiful child, and still behave like newlyweds long since the day he carried her over the threshold.

But all of that changes in an instant thanks to a thoughtless deed that has lifelong repercussions.

With secrets bubbling to the surface, the pair find their American dream life suddenly in jeopardy, and neither one of them are willing to let go at any cost.

Narration was pretty good but story was very predictable and while this usually doesn't bother me as it's always interesting to see how the writer unfolds the story. It was far fetched but that's ok too I think had he not confessed early on it would have been more believable- his trying to keep the psycho relationship secret. But once she already knew I couldn't see the point of keeping the rest of it hidden.

Another rehash of old theme

I didn’t particularly like any of the characters and I felt bad about the end of the story. Also not all that original.

Distinctly average

A surprisingly good story filled with unexpected twists and turns. Its easy to get through and a good filler in between a couple of heavy reads.

I really enjoyed this domestic thriller. The narration was great too. I would choose to listen to these narrators in future. The plot was well developed and created believable characters.
Well worth a read.

I’d not heard of this author before, but took a chance as this book was part of the Plus catalogue. I enjoy psychological thrillers & this book didn’t disappoint.

I had started to piece together who was responsible for [trigger alert] placing the dating ads & the dodgy photograph.

I enjoyed this book.

Loved the twists & turns, definitely wanted to keep listening. Just as it seems a little predictable, the twists make you think again. Very well narrated.

A riveting listen

Loved this book, Characters and narration great. I guessed at the begining the assistant was devious .
I will listen to this book again because I thoroughly enjoyed it and therefore recommend.

Brilliant !

Decent enough psychological thriller.
First 3/4 is from the wife's point of view, the last quarter from the husbands.
