It's 1830, in an alternate Britain where the "scientific" principles of magic were discovered 60 years previously, allowing the British to win the American War of Independence. fantastic storyline of rags to riches and Riches to rags with a dash of equality and a plethora of magic.

As always the narration by Zara Jane Naqvi was exemplary and thoroughly entertaining.

Was blown away with how good this book was. It had the right amount of magic to story and the fight scenes were epic in scale! This would make an amazing movie!

I did not finish this book because I couldn't listen to the narrator any more. Too bad because I think the story had potential although it might be for young adults or children.
