Summary

Enjoy short stories by Mace Styx:

Curiosity got mixed with raw fear and it made me speak, although all I could say was, ''Hello?'' I swear to God if anyone had responded, I would have died of a heart attack. Luckily for me, no one did. That calmed me down a bit, but my camera was still on, and, well, that was a problem to me. I had no idea who turned it on, and what was even scarier, who was watching me? I moved a cursor across the screen, and there wasn't an option to turn it off. It was seemed like whoever created this site wanted to see its visitors faces. Probably because of the bone-chilling camera turning on thing, I didn't realize on the right side of the screen was a list of contacts. Well, not exactly contacts, more like a list of options you have.

I went through them and finally made my biggest mistake. I chose the one which sounded the most interesting to me. It was titled ''the ritual''. If you ask me now, why did I do that instead of just leaving, I will not be able to answer you, because I don't frikin’ know. It felt almost like I was drawn to it. What happened next was pretty disturbing. Some sort of video presentation started. A dark figure of a man covered in, what seemed like an ancient priest garment turned up. And it spoke with a very unsettling, deep, nonhuman voice. It took me a moment, but then I realized that his voice was edited to sound like that. It didn't feel like he was talking to me in particular, and that gave me some kind of inner peace.
