Summary

Princess Myla has always done her best to obey her father’s rules, for fear of his harsh punishments. As princess of Baela, he expects her to fit into the mold of a diplomat and stern pawn. Which is something her kind heart isn’t made for. When the opportunity presents itself to help her townspeople, Myla can’t resist the call. That’s when she runs into a handsome knight…literally.

Their places in court would never allow them to be together. But love never cares about its inconvenience. While they both battle their own demons, they fall in love. But what will happen when King Henry has other plans for Myla's future? Will their love conquer, or will she become ensnared by her father’s game?

This title is duet narrated by Andria Mae and Josh Putnam.

Thoroughly enjoyed

I’ll start this with a caveat, I’m abysmal at writing book reviews but I know what I enjoy and I loved reading the book. It’s the first physical book that’s gripped my dyslexic butt enough to read in a few days for a while. I instantly wanted to reread it but work and life got in the way so I never got the chance so when the notification for this audio adaptation popped up in my emails I had to get it. The story is just as gripping a second time and with the dual narration it added a wonderful depth. There were a couple of places where additional noises weren’t really necessary but I’m going to enjoy listening to this book again and again.
