Brother Lawrence, a 17th century cook and shoe repairman in a monastery in Paris, was known for his peaceful devotion to God. Though not formally educated, his life experiences in war and his humble service in the priory led others to look to him for wise counsel. What a shame ... Frankly I felt this timeless, beautiful classic was 'slaughtered' by the robotic, almost angry sounding narration, which lacked any kind of emotion or passion/ sensitivity... may as well have been reading a car manual!! so monotonous/difficult to listen to ... also, don't really know why the continual use of the word 'That' was not edited out.... as I believe there have been many editions written... It would have lost nothing, and gained much more 'flow', and ease of listening.... I expect poor Brother Lawrence would be horrified!

Sorry to be so critical... just very disappointed... would love to hear it read well, with more feeling/sensitivity.
