About this listen

From two time British Fantasy Award-winning author, Jen Williams, comes the epic conclusion to the Winnowing Flame trilogy. Exhilarating fantasy for fans of Robin Hobb.

All is chaos. All is confusion. The Jure'lia are weak, but the war is far from over.

Ebora was once a glorious city, defended by legendary warriors and celebrated in song. Now refugees from every corner of Sarn seek shelter within its crumbling walls, and the enemy that has poisoned their land won't lie dormant for long.

The deep-rooted connection that Tormalin, Noon and the scholar Vintage share with their Eboran war-beasts has kept them alive so far. But with Tor distracted, and his sister Hestillion hell-bent on bringing ruthless order to the next Jure'lia attack, the people of Sarn need all the help they can get.

Noon is no stranger to playing with fire and knows just where to recruit a new - and powerful - army. But even she underestimates the epic quest that is to come. It is a journey wrought with pain and sacrifice - a reckoning that will change the face of Sarn forever.

Join forces with the heroes of the Winnowing Flame Trilogy as they strive to silence the Jure'lia's poison song once and for all.

I'm sad this book is over. what aln amazing piece of work. Thank you for creating this world Jen and to Jot for telling the story perfectly.

Oh my word.

Really enjoyed this series and Jen Williams is now an author on my instant buy list. The series is hard to place into a category, to me it’s Grimdark/Fantasy/Sci Fi all rolled into one. I became attached to the characters, cried and laughed with them and I shall miss them. The narrator Jot Davies was excellent

Sad that it’s over

A very good trilogy that requires some concentration. Language is realistic to every day British life rather than that of a more polished literary style. Don't have the volume too high if listening in the garden.

Lots of swearing

Great conclusion, leaving me feeling that there could be more. I really hope that this is the case.
I will not try and give an analytical review only to recommend this trilogy with enthusiasm.
Brilliant narrator as well.

Loved the Whole Trilogy

A brilliant but heartbreaking conclusion to the trilogy. How could you do that to me Jen Williams. I loved all the individual characters and how they developed throughout the story. I’m very sorry to leave this world behind. I listened to the audiobooks of this series and it was beautifully narrated.

A satisfying fantasy read

Really enjoyed the world, magic, characters and action in this book, as well as the series as a whole. What a fantastic ending indeed. Poignant and satisfying both.

Fantastic finale to a fantastic trilogy.

Think I have found a new favourite author!
the story line was strong & really pulls you in to have an emotional connection. The bond between war beasts & their riders, the description of the worm people & the way they destroyed people & the landscape to suit their needs, the strange new friendships & how people joined together, love & loss destruction & creation. Loved every minute!

Amazing!

It's a story of people with different values and different life experiences, all born and living in a time of a seemingly endless war. The world is vast and so intriguingly complicated, that you just can't stop consuming it. It's one of the best stories I have ever read. And the performer is absolutely amazing, so that, I instantly know whose perspective I'm listening to, only by hearing the tone in his voice! An admirable talent!

World, characters and story - all 10/10

I really enjoyed the story but for me it was really spoiled by the narration. What's with giving all the non human characters loud growling voices? I found it really set my teeth on edge and given the amount of dialog the beasts and the Queen get in this book it has made it difficult and unpleasant to listen to.

Not a fan of the narrator
