Summary

As a commander of Delta Force - the most elite counter terrorist organization in the world - Pete Blaber took part in some of the most dangerous, controversial, and significant military and political events of our time. Now he takes his intimate knowledge of warfare - and the heart, mind, and spirit it takes to win - and moves his focus from the combat zone to civilian life.

As the smoke clears from exciting stories about never-before-revealed top-secret missions that were executed all over the globe, listeners will emerge wiser, more capable, and more ready for life's personal victories than they ever thought possible.

insightful

I have found so many insights useful to any leader that want to win and to anyone that just wants to understand how the world and people really work.
About the performance, some military terms, like jsoc and to are to be read as a word, not an acronym.

Very Informative

I really found this book fascinating and so insightful. A real eye opener to what these Operators dealt with and things that really resonate with me such as " The Guy on the Ground ". The utter amazement that Higher Commands were calling the ops when they weren't even there. A proper BOHICA from the DCG. Truly a fascinating Read. ☆☆☆☆☆

Insightful and crushingly eye opening

A great listen to a story of facing adversity and the hierarchical, egotistical politics within the highest levels of the military. Insightful and crucial lessons for any leader in taking a factual approach to dealing with evolving situations and the consequences of emotion and ego in decision making. Stay in control, share all information with everyone involved and always listen to the guy on the ground.

Outstanding

As the title states, outstanding in every way. Applicable, real-world logic and practice that can be applied to almost any facet of life- military, business, sports... any situation that requires any form of dynamic decision-making or leadership. A great read for anyone, with the intended lessons expanded upon frequently throughout to really drive points home in a tangible way. Highly recommend!

When management get it wrong

This is more than a gripping read about special forces and there exploits, it's also a demonstration of how interference by senior management who are egotistical can cause serious cocky ps to escalate, in this case leading to a tragic loss of life. A fantastically well written and read story.
