This series is simply phenomenal. After each book you wish it hadn't finished but no sooner than you end one and start the next, you are captivated.

The little angel is just brilliant, not a lot more tops that! The ending by the way may well have you in tears!!

I started with Book 4 in this series, not realising it was part of a saga! I loved that one so much, I went searching to see if Rosie Goodwin had written anything else, and to my delight I discovered that there were more 😃 I then read Book 1 and this is Book 2. All of them have been phenomenal! I love how real the characters and their lives are. I’ve cried with shock, sadness and joy, numerous times throughout. These are among the best books I’ve ever read. Thank you so much Rosie! You’ve handled some very sensitive subjects beautifully, and I’ve been thoroughly transported through the entire journey so far. I can’t wait now to read the rest!

Loving this series, I’ve read it back to back and cannot put it down! So well written, love the historical facts weaved within and seeing the families grow and seeing their whole journeys.
This had a couple of twists thrown in, was a bit gritty and just so beautiful.
Also, Charlie Sandersons narration is always the absolute best and makes Rosie Goodwin’s books.

What a lovely story- thank you Rosie Goodwin - it was really, as all your stories are, wonderful. Charlie Sanderson read it so well. From the first chapter to the last I couldn’t stop listening and the details of the First World War were so interesting. I was hoping that there would be a sequel but after listening to the ending , which was so very sad - but happy for others - perhaps it will not be possible
