Summary

A librarian’s discovery of a mysterious book sparks the journey of a lifetime in the delightful new novel from the best-selling author of The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper.

Librarian Martha Storm has always found it easier to connect with books than people - though not for lack of trying. She keeps careful lists of how to help others in her superhero-themed notebook. And yet, sometimes it feels like she’s invisible.

All of that changes when a book of fairy tales arrives on her doorstep. Inside, Martha finds a dedication written to her by her best friend - her grandmother Zelda - who died under mysterious circumstances years earlier. When Martha discovers a clue within the book that her grandmother may still be alive, she becomes determined to discover the truth. As she delves deeper into Zelda’s past, she unwittingly reveals a family secret that will change her life forever.

Filled with Phaedra Patrick’s signature charm and vivid characters, The Library of Lost and Found is a heartwarming reminder that even the quietest life has the potential to be extraordinary.

Perfect for fans of 59 Memory Lane, The Keeper of Lost Things and Something to Live For.

A nice uncomplicated read

I would recommend this book to anybody who wants a nice easy and uncomplicated book to read, I read it before going to sleep at night and when I wanted to relax without having to listen too hard. The storyline was interesting, unchallenging and in some places predictable. I did enjoy it so I would recommend.

Strange narration

A touching story. Dreadful narration. The speech pattern is really strange as if it is being read by a robot . It sounds like your Sat nav is reading to you.

A lovely book full of love and hope.

I got cross a couple of times listening I thought, to another story about a silly woman who martyred herself for other people, which I find so irritating. Luckily I perservered and fell in love with this story and it's flawed but amazing characters. I truly loved listening to this book with its gentle and mesmerising narration. I cannot read anything myself at the moment due to a very recent eye operation and have so enjoyed discovering Kindle Audible books. I have greedily already purchased my next book by this author this time with a male main character and hoping to find it equally as good.

Good story

struggled to get into it but glad I finished it!
I found the performance of the narrator a struggle at times due to lack of emotion.

Soporific narrator

It could be a decent story but oh my goodness, the monotone narration that never changes no matter what happens. I kept missing huge chunks as her voice had no inflection, no emotion, no interest and consequently her voice drifted past like some kind of background noise. What a shame as I like this author’s work.
