Summary
Her name is Florence, and she did not cry when the world ended.
Two years after Great Britain is devastated by an alien virus, a young girl and her ex-military guardian are drawn back to the mainland for reasons only known to the dark gift inside her head. It’s a gift neither she nor the old soldier trusts entirely, but their only hope is to obey its call into the wastelands.
But is her ability a curse or a blessing?
And will it lead them to salvation or death?

Disappointing
Not as good as previous books in the series. It became too dark for me.

Bad grammar, but the storyline is ok.
I don’t mind a bit of zombie trash now and again. I wish they were edited properly though.

The narrators dulcet tones..
Total apocalypse. I really enjoyed the 3 books. Where to hide in a world overtaken by monsters? You can feel the absolute desperation as the struggle for survival continues in almost every moment. The narrator is brilliant. I think he could read almost anything and make it sound good! It’s so important to have a good narrator. I enjoyed the trilogy very much.

Different to most post apocalyptic infection stories
Really interesting series and a good ending in this book leaving you still asking questions, but wrapping things up nicely. The infection and those affected are a great, unpredictable and weird idea from the writers imaginings. The people who are surviving, are interesting and cover a range of innocents up to psychos. Based in the UK makes a change from all the Americans, especially with our lack of guns generally! Not keen on the narrator but the story kept me listening even so.
