Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

As a child, Evan Smoak was plucked out of a group home, raised and trained as an off-the-books assassin for the government as part of the Orphan program. When he broke with the program and went deep underground, he left with a lot of secrets in his head that the government would do anything to make sure never got out.

When he remade himself as The Nowhere Man, dedicated to helping the most desperate in their times of trouble, Evan found himself slowly back on the government's radar. Having eliminated most of the Orphans in the program, the government will stop at nothing to eliminate the threat they see in Evan. But Orphan X has always been several steps ahead of his pursuers.

Until he makes one little mistake...

Now the President has him in her control and offers Evan a deal - eliminate a rich, powerful man she says is too dangerous to live and, in turn, she'll let Evan survive. But when Evan left the Program he swore to only use his skills against those who really deserve it. Now he has to decide what's more important - his principles or his life.

Orphan x fantastic

I absolutely love this series. I’ve been hooked from the start. They’re thrilling, fast paced, emotional and with humour. Thank you Gregg for another great book. As soon as those 5 words are said ( do you need my help) I smile with excitement.
Oh and Scott Brick is the perfect narrator.

Not the best X book

This book started out well but for me, had too much monologing from the perceived bad guy. It just went on and on. And Joey, who I normally like, was a bit annoying too. Not my favourite Orphan book.

Still good

The series keeps on delivering. The aging of X is a good angle, I’ll listen to the next one

All that I can say is once I turned it out I had to listen to the end. I can’t wait for the next one.

Root-beer-float good

Full throttle without the need for a throttle; just great storytelling with a narrator at the top of his game. If you’ve made it this far in the series just sit back and enjoy a further development in the evolution of Orphan X. Thoroughly recommended.

Worth the Wait

This latest Orphan X adventure was worth the wait. Brilliantly narrated by Scott Brick, and so pleased to hear/read about old/present characters.

Orphan X is brilliant. Now need to read/listen to the latest Gray Man adventure and see who comes out on top !

Hope this wasn't the "last" Orphan X episode.

I’m not sure what to feel…

At first it seems that Evan had gotten himself into a rather complex combination of problems, but at the end it dissolves into just about nothing, there was really no problem, and therefore no solution and i was left with an empty feeling.

i will listen to this book again to figure if i missed something along the way.
