This is a brilliant ending to the Narnia series and it is brilliantly narrated by Patrick Stewart. Lewis’s descriptions are stunning and he ties together all loose ends in this final Narnia chapter.

Thoroughly recommended.

Although this is the last of the Chronicles of Narnia, you will feel it is not the end - just the end of part of the series of life there and here.

Whatever your opinion of Star Trek as a show there can be no doubt about Sir Partrick Stewart's talent to bring a story to life.

As a child, "The Last Battle" was the one Narnia story i just couldn't get through. Even as an adult it was hard going.

Sir Patrick brings the characters to life through his amazing vocalisations, accents and his incredible talent as a Shakespearean actor to take a story and through simple inflection to breathe something very magical into a potentially dry source and turn it into a living, breathing piece.

My three year old son has begged me each night for the last week for just "a bit more about Jewel, Daddy" (The unicorn's name) where at three times his age I begged my own father - who was no slouch as a storyteller - to go back to the story about the Wardrobe. Having finished the book tonight, he's already asked to hear it again.

The second time this year!

I would encourage anyone, Christian or not, to listen to the Narnia series - specifically this set's excellent unabridged adaptations - in the order Lewis intended, beginning with "The Magician's Nephew" straight through to the climactic scenes of "The Last Battle". Each book narrated perfectly by the chosen talent and most definitely saving the best for last!

Thank you to all the wonderful talents who took their time to sit and narrate the stories at such an incredible standard. I'm certain of Lewis were alive today he would not have chosen a different cast for each book. Especially this one.

Patrick Stewart's performance is sublime. He brings the characters to life with his voices and skilled narration. It must have taken a lot of work to be able to narrate so superbly.
What a brilliant tale - hiding some deep theology around death and judgment.
C S Lewis and Patrick Stewart are the perfect combination. Patrick - please record more!

This story is just tremendous, beautiful, imaginative and thought-provoking! Absolutely read it and all the Narnia books! Patrick Stewart does a great job reading except when he has to voice some of the animal characters (mice, a certain lamb, Farsight the eagle, Reepicheep) -- these sounded very squeaky and unpleasant. But the book itself is marvellous!

There are so many scenes, it's difficult to pick one particular one.

This book is an allegory of the last days before Jesus returns, where we are warned that many will lead people astray with different religions. We see this in the way the ape, Shift and Ginger, the cat, have used Puzzle the donkey to dress up as Aslan, causing unbelief among a group of dwarfs who start fightingNarnians and enemies alike, fear and bewilderment among the beasts and gloom to reign over the once happy and kindly land of Narnia. Beasts and dwarfs are to be sold into slavery and Tirian, the last king, is bound to a tree for speaking out against the new regime. He calls on the children who have helped Narnia in the past and when Jill and Eustace arrive, they try to bring some hope back to the land, but is it too late?

This is a darker book than some of the other ones, but it keeps you on the edge of your seat. You just have to keep on to the end.

I came back to these for my babies sake, something for him to listen to. But I would have to stop each time because of the weight of the darkness over Narnia. This is saturn, the last medieval planet to have its influence over narnia and Aslan triamphs once again, for the last time.
