Summary
In a land where stories of the Shadow Demon keep children shivering in bed and tales of the Yorel bring hope to the commoner, Yosyph is both the reason for their fear and their hope.
By day, Yosyph appears nothing more than a mute tavern-hand. By night, he plans a revolution and slips through shadow, rescuing those marked for death by the xenophobic queen.
When he learns that thousands of his people will be sent as slaves to the mines, he must choose — fight the royal army with an ill-prepared rebellion or journey to the land of his ancestors through the deadly King's Trial. If he succeeds, he'll win his kin's loyalty and their help.
His journey grows complicated when he rescues a maiden and enrages a prince, but if he doesn't return with help in time, the people he's loved and secretly served will be gone.

This book with the fam 💘This book was so good!
I could tell you a brief summary of this book and get you all excited, but I’m going to do more of a blurb OK this “family“ live in this kingdom and they are thieves and have contingency plans for every happening. They are really good at what they do. So one day after a long hard day of teething and conning they’re sitting around in one friend tells The other, whatever happened to the kingdom you are from and the other friends that you are mistaken I am from this kingdom and the first princess know your mother said you’re from the desert people in the second princess I am not from the desert kingdom and this goes on until eventually he convinces his friend yes you are from the desert kingdom in a royalty there. So they have a new playing he wants to reclaim his birthright or at least find out, Why his family left there. OK I won’t say more as anything I say will be a spoiler but you can read and now the title of the book. Let me just say I highly recommend this book if you love medieval settings, Likable characters in character do you love the heat in a fight scene every now and then. The new love this book. It has cunning… OK I was gonna say more but I can’t cause spoil the ending. Just know the book is great the narrator is great he does a great job with the different voices, genders and social classes. I’ve already downloaded another book with him now riding he was that good! I can only hope we visit the desert kingdom again…
