Mispronunciation of Latin a little irritating, but story and narration superb. An interesting slant on the events and character of Richard.

Less than expected for content glossing over key events. Readers little girl voice continued throughout book even though the character had become an adult. Music at start of chapters is very irritating in this and other books. Very disappointed.

It's up there with the ones I'd listen to again.

What did you like best about this story?

Even though it is fiction, it's based on a real historical character using historical research and references, so I found it really informative whilst enjoying the authors personal take, relating to the characters thoughts and feelings.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

I loved the parts with Richard, as his character has been portrayed very badly through history and this story gave a different perspective on him and his good qualities, whilst subtly leading us to believe he could quite possibly have been bad too.

I have read this book. But I’ve enjoyed the audio book much more. Sight loss has made me turn to audiobooks and it means I can still enjoy my favourite pastime which is reading and Philippa Gregory my favourite author thank you

I was initially concerned at the length of this story but I was interested in hearing about history from the perspective of the wife of King Richard III; Anne Neville is hardly mentioned in the history I was taught at school.
I was fascinated and enthralled by the ruthless determination of these two women - Anne and Elizabeth Woodville. The author drew you into their lives and their power struggle as if you were watching from the corner of the room. The narrator was excellent, taking the role of Anne Neville narrating her own story. The hours fled.

as always Phillipa Gregory doesn't disappoint. Her characters have depth and purpose and the story flows without becoming boring despite almost 20 hours of listening. I have found that I now have a greater understanding and interest in the hiistory of our monarchy which despite its basis being in fiction isn't a bad thing and often find myself perusing the royal pedigree seeing who is related to whom... great story definitely worth the kisten
