Another great Peter Diamond story. In this book we meet Hen Mallen (sp?). The recording is odd in places but that doesn't detract. Very enjoyable. If you like Peter Diamond I think you'll like this book.

Considering the unexciting location and uninspiring characters this book will keep you guessing until the end. Easy going, not too indepth, it makes a great holiday read. All things considered a good book, but don't expect the greatest masterpiece you have ever listened to!

Not a bad story and decent delivery by Steve Hodson but the author clearly didn’t do proper research into archery. He would have you think there are only two disciplines of archery - crossbow or longbow but in fact, as even the most basic research would have shown, the most popular form of archery uses the recurve bow. Minor point in the story but irritating to an archer.

Diamond is a big if a rough cop but always eventually gets his man or woman. Wonderful writing great narration

Initially I found this a little slow to grab my attention but please persevere- this book has a good balance of witty lines from the characters and yet retaining above that a good storyline. Ultimately, I found myself relishing long drives to listen to more and leaving the office early for appointments so I could listen to as much as possible: the mark of a good download.

I hadn't read/listened to this author before and thought I'd give him a try. I wasn't disappointed. It's a well-constructed and exciting story that keeps one listening. The characters are well-drawn so one can remember who they when they re-appear. The reader is good.

Very entertaining listen due to the characters in the book. I enjoyed it a lot. The only disappointing point that the path to the murderer was a relatively easy one in the end, which should have been figured out early in the investigation. Technically it was my first download from audible and the speed of the narrator varied substantially which was annoying at times.

An enjoyable book and the reader was easy on the ear. Good plot and not too many characters so despite 14 hr length was easy to follow. On the whole a serious book with the odd laugh thrown in.
