Lovers of football: pour yourself a cuppa, pull up your armchairs and prick up your ears. This is the audiobook experience you have been looking for.

Downloaded over 10 million times a year, The Football Ramble podcast has established itself as the essential independent voice of football punditry. The weekly podcast has resonated with supporters around the world, and their sold-out live shows have been a massive hit with supporters. This audiobook is a collaboration by all four presenters and tackles the real issues from fans you won't see or hear on Sky Sports - or anywhere else, for that matter.

From the weird and wonderful, from the Alan Pardew to the Kevin Keegan, the Ramble has it covered. Putting all aspects of the game under the microscope, this book is a timely reminder of why we just can't take our minds off football.

Fantastic!

It’s like listening to an elongated version of a weekly show, having them narrate it themselves adds a lot - would highly recommend!

Not for big Fash or Mike Dean...

Hilarious and informative I started listening to this on a run and left it on completing it in 2 sittings. Chapter highlights referees and Sunday league.

Thoroughly enjoyed, bar one nagging issue

If you could sum up The Football Ramble in three words, what would they be?

football for adults

What did you like best about this story?

The depth of research that has clearly gone into it

Which scene did you most enjoy?

The history of football narrated by Jim

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, my legs would have gone numb.

Any additional comments?

The only thing that keeps it from being 5 stars for me, is Pete's voice. I like Pete on the podcast, and I like yoghurt, but all his speech on this audiobook is like he's reading one of his radio adverts. It's in the same way as Ross Kemp's narration often grates on the listener, or how Clarkson has the same inflection at the end of everything he says. I found myself willing his part to end, which is a shame, as it was good stuff and he's a funny guy, just difficult to listen to for me.

Pretty good. Not as funny as the podcast though.

It was good, not as funny as the podcast though. Still I enjoyed it very much.

Interesting and amusing

Lovely stuff!!
Very informative in a non-preachy manor. Although Pete appears to be doing an impression of what he thinks someone reading a book should sound like, instead of just reading the f*cking book. Very odd intonation indeed. The others sounded natural and wholly listenable.

Absolutely bloody brilliant

Even if you haven’t listened to their podcast give this book a go. Football from the perspective of those who love the game and everything that goes with it.

exactly what you expect, even with Pete!

4 lads who love football, it comes through clearly. excellent references and talking points. if there was one criticism, it's that they ignored some areas of the game, but this can always be addressed in the second book ey lads?!

Podcast On Steroids

A unique take on football literature. Completely different tone to The Football Ramble podcast. The ramblers talk in turn on some great topics, with more detail than you'd get on the podcast. Funny, informative and opinionated (but not odious). Divisive topics are discussed fairly and substantiated. Given the pace that football is evolving and the scope for further debate, I hope there is a follow up.
