About this listen

War has come to the Infinite Realm.

As old allies turn on each other, as an unassuming presence in yellow walks the lands of dreams, as an empire falls, a group of people is gathered to fight the threat that the rest of the world decided to ignore.

Even as everything burns, and the chaos consumes the core, some are willing to act. Whether for their own self-interest, or just because it is the right thing to do, they are the only ones that can stand against the greatest threat their world has ever seen.

This book has many different perspectives as it focuses on several characters. Ivan Kal makes you love and root for them all.

This book is great, there's a plot within a plot within another plot. So many schemes, twists and turns. I can't wait for the next book.

Another great addition to this fantastic series. Highly recommending this book if you like the previous books.

So good

I’ve loved the series so far and this book is my favorite yet! Felt slightly slow for the second third of the book but picked right up to finish with a band in the final third! Can’t wait to see where it goes from here!

Fantastic!!

If you liked any of the previous books, you will love this one.

There is a lot to this series, lots of great characters and seeing all their perspectives throughout many of the major events, it lets you not only see their power, but their reasoning behind things, their motives and what they value most of all.

This book focuses around the main party travelling to a new world, the Empire.
Ryun gets a better understanding of his Void Powers and prepares himself for the next evolution.

However, the majority of this book focuses around Zach, much to many people's dismay.
While I think Zach is a well rounded, if not a little self centred as a character, his flaws and methods of progression are, in my opinion, supposed to contrast Ryun. While he may not be strong by himself, he gets his strength from his companions. At least, that was until this book.

Roughly two thirds of the way through this book, the party prepares to go up against the BBEG, a Mind Flayer of sorts. Zach, however, has his Mind Resistance from his Forged Mind Perk in Book 2.

This leads to one of the best, well written chapters in the entire series this far.

Zach is trapped in a prison of the mind, hundreds of thousands of days passing, trapped alone and honing his skills.
All while only a fraction of the time had passed in real life.

However, after he breaks free he has gained immesurable power, easily eclipsing the rest of the party –perhaps the rest of the Infinite Realm– all by himself.
However, all his memories of the past and who he held dear all but forgotten, aside from those he locked away within his Tier 6 Skills.

From a power-scaling perspective, this is honestly a little scary going forward. Zach's new power can easily trivialise any issues going forward.
While I have faith the writing will revolve around these new skills rather than relying on them, it is still a concern I have.

However, from a Character perspective, I believe this is a great opportunity for Zach to be rebuilt, gather a new understanding of what is important to him after drifting around pretty much ever since he landed in the Infinite Realm.
My biggest issue with Zach was his lack of direction, but now that he has power, –hopefully a level Ryun will match before long– he can really focus on the characterisation of Zach with an almost blank slate.

Overall, this book is great, if not a little concerning for the future.
I have high hopes for the future books going forward as I have quickly found myself becoming lost in this world and it's many intricate, interconnected systems.

Love the series

It was a real Journey with a real nice twist. Personalities is the same but the characters develop both powerwise and as people.

We get to know more about the world and the realms at large. Just take your time and take up this series. You most likely wont be dissapointed.
