Summary
In a world that will not tolerate the mention of sin, and in churches where it has been defined only in generic, sociological terms, one could make a good case could that repentance is one of the least used words in the English language today. Repentance is essential to true Christianity - Jesus Christ himself said that if we do not repent, we will perish - and there are few better guides that have existed in this or any other area of spiritual experience than Thomas Watson. He was well versed in both scripture and the human heart and wrote with a simplicity and directness that keeps his work fresh and powerful for the 21st century.

Essential listening
This audio exceeded my expectations. It is essential listening not only for any serious Christian but even for those who are trying to make the very first step as to become a better person. It talks about mystery of grace of God and how crucial is the spirit of God touching the heart of a person in the coversion process. It requires active cooperation of a person that reflects itself in the overall change of lifestyle. After all, this effort is a requirement for anyone a aspiring to share a beatific vision and presence of God one day for all eternity!

Must read!
An absolute must read/listen for all Christians. Thomas Watson combats what is commonly called easy believism by showing the biblical reasons and necessity of repenting of sin and living a life fighting the flesh.

The Doctrine of Repentance
This doctrine is very important and sadly neglected in today's churches.
People are called to repent, not just once asking the Lord Jesus into our lives and being born again. However, it is ongoing, the message was preached at the beginning of the Lord's ministry in Matthew 4:17 and Mark 1:15, but also right at the end when He spoke to the church at Laodicea Revelation 3:19.

the most essential doctrine?
a book to read/listen to again and again. Repentance is so important to the understanding of our place before God and who God is and how he relates to us. He wants us to be Holy as he is Holy and repentance is essential for this. So much to ponder in this book.

Sound Doctrine
As a born-again Christian, this book's focus on the ongoing nature of repentance really resonated with me. I enjoyed Watson's writing style, with his frequent quotes, allusions, and footnotes. Very well narrated too.

A Humbling Deeply moving listen
I think there are few words that could describe the joy I felt listening to this great work and doctrine. He is like others a great Soul Doctor. You will not be disappointed, his convincing words have caused me to look for other Thomas Watson titles. I look forward to listening to this again.

Amazing book
I would definitely recommend. it is unquestionably dense and if you are like me, you will pause frequently to reflect and absorb the weight of the teaching but it is worth it

Puritanism Made Difficult
Sums up Puritanism nicely- succinct but very hard to live by in the real world.
