Summary

The Dalai Lama’s Cat is back: irreverent, vain and as delightfully insightful as ever! When the Dalai Lama’s inner circle is set the task of providing His Holiness with a book he can give his visitors, an unexpected volunteer stretches out her paws. The book is to summarize the four key elements of Tibetan Buddhism – and, importantly, to communicate how it feels to be in the profoundly reassuring presence of His Holiness. Who better to do this than his much-loved feline? Through encounters with celebrity visitors and her own intriguing adventures, the Dalai Lama’s Cat explains all four key themes, not so much as ideas but as practices to be embodied. Along the way she even gets a new title – ‘Therapy Cat.’ If you have ever sought a summary of Tibetan Buddhist wisdom, albeit from an unusual and whiskery source, this may just be the book to get you purring!

Not as good as the other 3 Dalai Lama's Cat books

I have loved learning about Tibetan buddhism from The Dalai Lama's Cat, but felt that this book didn't have the little insights that the other 3 books had.

Last, but not least. Powerful messages

This may be the last (4th) book in the series.. but it delivers the overall picture of its teachings.
I repeat, as mentioned in the other reviews: I got these 4 books near the beginning of the COVID 19 lock-down, and they have helped me immensely during this time. I have read all 4 books several times, and can still find peace and tranquillity when listening to the narrators messages coming through in the stories. Beautiful thoughts and teachings, sowing many positive thoughts and ideas, during a time when so much else is in turmoil and there is suffering all around. I am now very interested in the teaching of the Dalai Lama and his beliefs that go back thousands of years.
My only criticism of this book, is that I thought the last part, regarding Ludo return and the future of the Yoga studio was rushed through. Too much left for interpretation, when I am sure, another chapter or 2 could have rounded all stories off. But the main story and the 4 paths of the Buddha , where beautifully told and nicely rounded off at the end looking at the statue and explaining the 4 parts. A beautiful set of books, well read by the author. Thank you David Michie.

Fluffy joy and enlightenment

The 4th book from the Dalai Lama’s Cat is another beautiful tale interwoven with real Buddhist insights.
I love these books, they leave me feeling uplifted, spiritually aware and deeply curious about Buddhism.
Listening to David Michie read them is like a heartfelt hug for the soul. I’m already looking forward to the 5th instalment. 🙏

This book sorts my head out!

An entertaining read/listen at the same time as being a low stress kind of cognitive therapy.

simplified Buddhist philosophy through the eyes of the most beautiful, charming cat is something we can all strive to apply.

David Michie's lovely relaxing tone as he winds his characters and the lessons they learn around you feels like being wrapped in the cosiest of blankets. this book has made me reflect more and take more responsibility. I want to keep listening and learning, please write more.....
