About this listen

Marrying your fae prince shouldn’t be this hard.

Hetta’s family now knows Wyn’s true identity, but that doesn’t mean they approve of their relationship. Princes are all very well, but Wyn’s not human - though he’s spent 10 years pretending to be.

With gossip spreading like wildfire, Hetta and Wyn receive a royal summons. The queen of Prydein has heard the rumors of fae intruders, and she's not letting Wyn go until she's satisfied that he and his people aren’t a threat. Convincing her would be a lot easier if someone wasn’t trying to blacken Wyn’s name and if his sister wasn’t trying to kill him.

But mortal politics aren’t the only problem the pair has to face. The Court of Ten Thousand Spires is still without a ruler, and the only way out may be for Wyn to assume the throne himself, meaning he and Hetta can never be together.

The Court of Mortals is book three of the Stariel Quartet.

More Surprises

A J Lancaster continues to build the world of the Stariel series with inimitable style and ramps up the stakes. Loved it and the wonderful narration of Finty Williams. Yet beware Book Four for the new choice of narrator is nothing short of disastrous. Have returned the audio book and will have to purchase a copy to read instead. So disappointed.

Brilliant

Still really enjoying this series. Finty Williams is as excellent as ever.
Whilst I really want to listen to the last book in the series, I'm not happy the narrator has changed.

The drama is delicious

I’m currently obsessed with this series! I’ve listened to the first 2 books within 4 days and this one kept me gripped. If you love fantasy, drama and a bit of spice you’ll love this series. The narrator is fantastic and I’ve already downloaded the next book to start now. Excellent!

Beautifully written and narrated

I’m loving this series and am so pleased to have the final book already downloaded and ready to read but also having that angst of the story and it’s characters coming to an end. The narration is beautiful, Finty’s voice has so much become a part of the story and I’m interested to see how the fourth book holds up as the narrator is different.

Brilliant and captivating

I love the characters and the way Finty Williams brings them to life.
I was sad to see that she does not narrate the other books. However, I think I will still enjoy the fascinating story and can’t wait to see how it is all resolved…

enjoyable listen

i found this series an entertaining enough listen. it didnt make me want to binge listen like sarah j maas books but its a fair fea tale set mostly in the human world which is a different spin usually its a human in fae. i do not enjoy the narrator.. maybe its the recording or her voice bit she can be a bit shrill and loud at times, especially when voicing hetta, that affect my enjoyment in a negative way.

Great characterisation

The plot of this one is stronger than book two, but still doesn't quite live up to the first book. Still, there's some great character stuff in here, and the romance continues to be delightful. However, I the pov changes are as jarring here as they are in book two, and I absolutely hate the ending.
