About this listen

Nikolas and Ben discover that bonds aren't forged with blood or scars, but in the hearts of men strong enough to love. Siberia in winter isn't a place for good men. There is nothing Nikolas won't do to keep Ben alive. Nikolas has exorcised his demons, but when they end up stranded in Russia, the monster inside needs to be let loose. Ben discovers the truth of the adage, "be careful what you wish for"!

Nikolas then faces an enemy he can't defeat: Ben Rider himself. Discovering a new family, Ben realizes he's been living too long in the shadows cast by Nikolas's all-consuming love. For the first time, life apart from Nikolas is possible.

Is Nikolas strong enough to let Ben go?

Part 1 (the first 4.5 hrs) is a gripping excursion into Siberia, that turns into a nightmare foray as the trip goes from horrible to absolutely awful. Full of tension, drama and violence which keeps you on the edge of your seat. Our heroic MCs have to face survival in the bleakest of areas under the bleakest of conditions. This is a stark contrast to the opening of the book where charity sharks who turn up in their limos discuss divvying up donated funds needed in various war-torn regions at home and away, Part 2 adds all sorts of left-field ingredients to the mix, setting the scene for the follow on in the next book. The pace slows right down compared to the harrowing Part 1. There is so much sex, enough to ensure that not only the dog goes blind.

The fabulous narration enhances the action making it impossible to stop till the end. ENJOYABLE

There audio books are saved in my 'keep for ever' list. The books are now available on kindle unlimited or they would be saved in my forever list forever too.

I love this series, for all its faults.

I just love, this series, can't wait for the next book. Great narration as always with Gary Furlong.

This series just keeps on getting better and better. The overall arc of Nikolas/Alexander and Ben's relationship keeps on developing in depth and emotional ties while they are being tested individually and together in incredible, harrowing and at times superhuman ways that keeps you on the edge of your seat and biting your nails. John Wiltshire gives us nightmarish scenarios with monsters to slay and it's only in retrospect when the heroes are recovering from yet more life threatening injuries that you wonder which monsters were more horrifying, those encountered in the wilderness or those in ancestral drawing room.
The writing is superb and gives great insight into the characters' mind - or in one case, the lack of it and the story keeps moving forward at perfect pace. Gary Furlong's narration is superb and so well suited to both main characters and the others there is never any confusion who is speaking, not to mention all the accents and dialects. I can't wait to get to the next book and hope they all will be released as soon as possible!

Nail biting tension and sweet realisations
