The Book on Puberty for Girls: The Complete Guide for young Girls and their Parents by Flora J. Blair and Brian Mahoney
Life is full of transitions and changes. Can you remember how nervous you were on the first day of school? Or the first day on a new team?
Change can make us anxious and scared, and that is normal. It also can be exciting if you are prepared for it and know what to expect. That is where this book comes in. The more you know, the more prepared you will be for your journey of change.
Puberty is a time when your body goes through changes on both the inside and the outside. Puberty may give you more things to learn about your body, but it also gives you more to love.
In simplest terms, puberty is a time when your body goes from looking like a kid's body to looking like an adult's body. Both boys and girls go through puberty. For girls, puberty can start as early as eight years old or as late as 12.This book covers the basics first, like what puberty is and the expected growth during that time. Then, we'll examine some details of the way a girl's body tends to develop. We will start small, noting the first changes in height, weight, and hair growth, and then, we'll work toward the more essential changes like breast development, diet and exercise, and menstruation.
Topics include:
- Puberty for girls: a complete overview
- Breast development nd bras
- Menstrual cycle: all you need to know
- Fitness food and nutrition
- Precocious puberty - what is it and how to handle it
- Expert solutions for dealing with puberty and emotions
- Expert tips to teach parents how to navigate this special time in their child's life
So, get excited! We are about to embark on an amazing journey!

A Helpful Guide for Growing Up
This book breaks down everything about puberty in clear, easy language. It takes one through great changes-from body development to emotions-and even gives some advice for parents. I like the way this comforts girls that everybody goes through puberty differently, which is normal. Those sections on self-care and ways to handle your emotions were the ones that seemed most valuable. If you are in search of a no-nonsense sort of guide that doesn't overexplain puberty, then this is a great place to look.
