Summary

Treehouses twinkle under a blanket of stars, the sea sparkles through the leaves and true love is in the air. From the best-selling author of Sunlight over Crystal Sands comes this gorgeously romantic tale.

Indigo Bloom is on her way to beautiful Wishing Wood with some very big news. Two months ago, she shared an incredible night with the most amazing man. She didn’t think she’d ever see River Brookfield again, but she never imagined she’d be showing up out of the blue to tell him she’s pregnant with his child.

Indigo’s heart longs for a fairy-tale ending. There’s just one problem: River doesn’t remember who Indigo is....

Crushed that a night that meant so much to her was so forgettable for him, Indigo resolves to keep her identity and her pregnancy secret until she gets to know the real River. But as they spend more time together, it’s clear that the incredible connection they shared that first night is stronger than ever and that River might remember more than Indigo first thought.

The closer they get, Indigo’s secret becomes harder to share. Can Indigo find the courage to tell River the truth? And if she does, will she get the fairy-tale ending she’s been dreaming of?

Make all your dreams come true this summer with this feel-good love story that will sweep you off your feet. It’s the perfect listen for fans of Jill Mansell, Sarah Morgan and Sue Moorcroft.

Lovely happy know-what-you’re-getting light escapism

I discovered Holly Martin through my very limited library’s collection of audiobooks and was flabbergasted that an adult could really speak with such a childish voice, however, as it was free and personal circumstances mean I whip through audiobooks often within 24 hours I stayed with it.
Once I’d given up my judgmentalism around this, to my critical mind, extraordinary voice of the narrator, I let the happily predictable, nicely-drawn characters and story propel along and enjoyed it for what it was.

I’ve since bought Holly Martin’s books when they’re on special offer and never been disappointed, despite it always taking a little time to settle to any niggles around the narrator.

I’d love to know what Martin’s books sound like with a different narrator, however Penny Andrews does not inject overacting into her reading like two other over-saccharine narrators I sadly have to avoid despite loving the authors.

Martin’s characters are always on a quest for love, there’s an enjoyable cast, and a happy ending guaranteed. Little jeopardy but enough of a plot to merrily trip along and simply indulge in the sweetness and happiness of some escapism. This was an enjoyable listen and the setting of magical tree-houses charming.

Cosy and funny

Such a nice feel-good book. Listened to the entire audiobook in one sitting. I burst out laughing at the part where River has to explain to his daughter what happens when grown ups become "boyfriend and girlfriend". Absolutely hilarious.

Completely brilliant

The whole story from start to finish was brilliant, river gave me a few headaches with his insecurities but it ended well. Penny Andrew’s narration make every story great

Awful Narration

The narrator’s child-like voice completely ruined this for me. The story was ok but quite predictable and sickly sweet at times. Maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the book myself or if the narration had been different it may not have come across quite so sickly!

Frustrating narrator

Good story line but the treacle voiced narration made it a really difficult listen. Would not listen to anything else with narrator!

whiny main male character

I didn't dislike the story. The main male character was irritating. I spent most of the time thinking, " just let him go"
