Summary
A hit and run. A budding relationship. Allie in the crosshairs.
Allie Treadwell has feelings. Lots of them. And they all center around her friend, Javi - that is, Detective Javier Portillo. But does he feel the same way about her? Allie isn't sure. And she's even less sure she wants to risk ruining things to find out.
Their friendship is put to the test when while on a morning jog, the two stumble across a body. And what seems a simple hit and run is anything but as motives are revealed. Lanai is a town full of suspects.
Allie’s new relationship has put a target on her back. The culprit, desperate to keep their identity a secret, sets their sights on her.
To keep Allie safe, Javier puts some distance between them, forcing Allie to confront her true feelings for the detective head-on.
Can Allie push past her insecurities, defend herself, and solve the case without ruining her chances at a happy ending? Pre-order today to make sure you don't miss out!
This book contains no swearing, no gore, and no cliffhangers.

Running is dangerous
I did enjoy this story, however it was on the short side so not a lot of suspects. It also had a lot of love life drama. There is no murder in this book and instead Allie is investigating a hit and run accident. There are questions to keep you guessing, such as is the coach the nice guy he seems? But only one really suspect is investigated before all is revealed. The other thing I didn't see the point of and if I had been reading I would have skipped, was at the start of each chapter you have a letter sent in to Allie's blog but it didn't seem to have anything to do with the story or case. I did like the characters and although I would have preferred more investigating the romance/friendship is sweet.
When Allie and her friend Javi are out jogging they stumble over a body. An apparent victim of a hit and run. The high school coach was !over by everyone but Allie can't help but think it was no accident. Did someone try to kill him? In between taking cooking classes, writing her food blog and making dates with Javi can Allie find out what happened?
I have heard the narrator read a few different series and I must be honest I don't always like how she portrays the characters but I think in this book her voice works well for the characters.

Oh this was so much fun
Oh I am so glad I found another series narrated by Angel Clark, she just so suits cozy novels. This was so much fun, nice and short but am so going to find more in this series. Just loved it, not serious.
