This was a very good story, but the hero, John, was a bit of a pompous ass till almost the end. I didn't like him much in the other stories before this either, as he was always bragging about all he had. But about 5 chapters before the end he got better. And of course after that he was really really nice then. i think the narrator made him sound like a pompous ass even more the way he narrates. And as usual in the love scenes his voice is really not sexy at all. But they were written really well. But Brian Gill is a very good narrator and I love the way he changes his voice for each character. He was especially brilliant when he changed to a French accent and when he spoke in French. So this book is definitely worth a credit. I finished it in a day as I was dying to know how it was going to end. Now on to the next one, Claudes story, John and Celestines son.

This book is one of three of a series. The characters are realistic, but the author has incorporated bits of fantasy into the storyline. A very well-written and interesting series. The hero seemed so spoiled and arrogant. Even when he said he loved his wife he still treated her until the end very badly because she was a healer/seer.
Our hero has a real need to control every aspect of his life. When things don't go his way he can be very difficult.
All our heroine wants is the family she has been denied for so long. Her special abilities are sometimes an asset and other times the cause of her problems.
This is a book filled with emotion. All the characters are so interesting. A few of the secondary characters come from other books in the series, and will make you want to read them.
