The Ashes weaves in and out between reality and fantasy, between the past, the present and another place in time altogether. Hollywood gets lost in his daydream as he drifts through another dimension to make sense of his friend’s sudden death. In some senses the story is autobiographical, in others it is fictional fantasy.
