Superb resource!
This is a fantastic recording of a wonderful bilingual book on Sun Tzu’s seminal work, ‘The Art of War’. LingLing’s recording of the mandarin version of the text is crystal clear and is an excellent resource for anyone wanting to imitate the sounds of this beautiful language spoken at their very best. I can thoroughly recommend.

Accessible
The original Art of War is probably too complex for all but the most experienced Chinese learners to get to grips with. I'm very happy to have a modern retelling that conveys the important concepts but in more modern language and references.
As a bonus it's always nice to have narration from the authors! It's very clear and at a speed that makes identifying new words easier.

Entertaining way to rapidly improve your Mandarin
This book is fantastic for anyone wanting to learn practical, modern Mandarin grammar and conversational skills in a way that will feel interesting and meaningful rather self-study that you need to motivate yourself to do. The Art of War is a very valuable business book that teaches practical wisdom on valuable topics such as effective decision making and competition. It doesn't take very much effort to extrapolate from the historical context so don't worry if you aren't a big fan of Spring and Autumn period Chinese warfare and politics. The translation is concise and clear. So it feels worthwhile reading for it's own sake. The language learning system LingLing espouses is also very valuable for your improvement and you are guided to pursue it through each chapter. So overall an extremely valuable and interesting read for Mandarin learners!

An interesting different way to learn Chinese
This is a translation of Sunzi's classical Chinese text 'The Art of War' into English and modern Chinese. You get a paragraph of English, then a paragraph of Chinese. It's a great change from the usual everyday textbook conversations language learners encounter.
It's probably not going to be directly applicable to your conversational skills unless you spend a lot of time talking about Zhou Dynasty warfare. But as a way to attune your ear to the language and to experience a classic text it's well worth listening to.
The recording is good. The Chinese is clear and spoken at a good speed for learners. The English is invested with just the right amount of portentousness.
Sunzi is still relevant today and his thoughts and macros are applied not only to military matters but also to fields like engineering and management.

A fantastic English-Chinese recording of the book!
This audio book is beautifully done by the two authors, with line by line recordings of each chapter in native spoken English and Chinese, easy to follow and understand! The recording quality is fantastic and the pace is well mastered! Most importantly this book is a modern bilingual version of Sun Tzu's the Art of War, very good for modern language learners of both Chinese and English, highly recommended!
