Summary

Why does socializing appear effortless for some and laborious for others?

While literacy is taken for granted in modern society, there’s another essential aspect of communication that is often overlooked: social intelligence. Without it, our personal and professional relationships suffer shallowness and often fizzle out.

Networking, romance, and friendships are all incredibly challenging without a healthy level of social awareness. Unlike learning to read, however, many of us don’t become socially “literate” until far later in life; and even then, the journey towards true social intelligence is usually characterized by trial and error.

In this book, you will learn:

  • Why understanding yourself first is the key to understanding others
  • How to learn and practice new emotional intelligence skills
  • How to hone finely attuned, receptive, and effective communication skills
  • Conflict resolution skills that will ensure everyone feels heard and accepted
  • How to step into others’ shoes and meaningfully accept their perspectives
  • Why the important people in your life deserve open appreciation
  • And more!

Relationships with colleagues, family, and partners are at the core of everything we do. By investing in your social intelligence, you’re investing in a more meaningful life as a whole. Start today!

John Ward is a professor, motivational speaker and author, and holds two degrees in psychology and neuroscience. He has devoted his life to helping people become their best selves both in the classroom and in countless books.

Great read.

This leads to wonderful commentary from Scripture that might have relevance to AI. A great read, thank you

This book hits it head on, with great insight

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, because I am at a point where better understanding how scripture informs and has informed our development is most important to me.

Fascinating!

I am reading his books, its just a pleasure to have an imaginary dialogue with such a wise man. Reading has this unique opportunity to really absorb the thoughts of brilliant minds.

four star.

An excellent analysis of AI in both its present accomplishments and ambitious plans. John Lennox acknowledges AI's many benefits, but demonstrates its lofty goals demands our careful thinking.
