I don't think I ever really thought about my inner child before listening to this book. But after listening, I've come to realize just how profoundly my childhoold experiences have impacted the adult I have become. I grew up in a loving household with parents who loved me and did their best. But no matter how we are raised, I think we all have experienced some sort of trauma (perhaps of varying levels) that affect the way we see the world as adults.

I love the way this book helped to break down complex emotional concepts in an easy to understand manner and gave me the opportunity to reflect on the inner child voices that continue to influence me today. It helped me to re cognize patterns that I didn't realize were rooted in early experiences. And I loved the advice she gives on setting more boundaries in life. That is something I've really been trying to work on in my life more, so I appreciate the guidance.

Overall, this book was a quick, but powerful read, and I highly recommend!

This audiobook has helped me look back at my experience as a child and to see how they play a role in my life as an adult. After reading this bool, I realize that we are more affected by our environment and people we spent time with than we think. This books offers engagement of practices such a journaling, breath work, affirmation and visualizations as some of the practices to help you in your healing journey. The book also invites you to familiarize yourself with shadow work to aid in this process. This book can help you develop a mind set of taking care of yourself first for purposes of you won mental wellbeing.

This is a great audiobook to teach you of how you should be feeling versus allowing the negativity in your life to take hold. Nobody should be living up to some invisible standard. We all are deserving of great things and we shouldn't occupy our minds with guilt or self doubt. The images and thoughts we carry are not in our best interest. Once we've identified the negetive narratives we can use any of these positive thought provoking replacements to get change to happen. We need these affirmations to reinforce our inner critic. I like how the author called negative self talk "Eeyores" from winnie the pooh. Once we trust in these new processes we can begin to break free from unhealthy relationships and empower ourselves for long term growth. Theres some great holistic healing practices to induce mindfulness and emotional regulation. You'll love the new validation, you will see yourself change to a better you.
