About this listen

The first title in this Forgotten Realms series of stand-alone adventures.

The Alabaster Staff is the first title in a Forgotten Realms series focusing specifically on the iconic character class of the rogue. Each novel in the series will be a stand-alone adventure, but the overall setting for all of the titles will be the Old Empires, an area of the Forgotten Realms world never before explored in the novels.

It's a decent story, with some twists and surprises. It's not got lot of battles or fights which is good as the tension from the sneaking and hiding is well paced and described well.

The problem is the narrator.... is it so difficult to find out how to pronounce something? 'Surjent' yeah I wondered what was being referred to, then realised it was Sergeant.... Honestly it's the one major issue with these books. Does nobody check them? Do the readers ask for clarification if they are unsure? I've had 'Nitch' for Niche, there are websites galore to help get this right.
