Summary
Don’t believe what they tell you about Robin Hood, the outlaw of Sherwood Forest. There was never such a man. But there is a woman....
That’s me, Robynne: fox shifter, master archer, and jaded outlaw with a fierce desire to avoid trouble. But when my impulsive brother and his merry band of misfits rob a passing carriage, they set off a chain of events that changes my destiny forever. Too late to stop them, I settle for the next best thing: taking from the rich and giving to the poor.
All well and good, except that puts the new sheriff of Nottingham hot on my trail. Operative word: hot, because unlike his predecessor, Daniel is a muscle- and duty-bound knight/dragon shifter freshly back from the Crusades. One who inspires all kinds of new desires.
As outlaw and sheriff, we’re sworn enemies, though we want the same things: justice for the downtrodden, the return of our rightful king, Richard, and a chance to indulge our wildest, most sizzling fantasies.
But that’s not so simple for us star-crossed lovers. The year is 1193—an era of scheming princes, greedy warlords, and ruthless shifters. To earn our happily ever after, Daniel and I must rely on cunning, fierce fighting, and love that burns hotter than dragon fire.
I’ve never let rules, expectations, or impossible odds stop me, but I have to admit, this will be one hell of a challenge.
And if you hear a canine growling, that’s my fox side. Challenge accepted.
Sherwood Forest Shifters
Steamy, suspenseful paranormal romance!
Book 1: Tempting the Sheriff
Book 2: Tempting the Outlaw
Book 3: Tempting the Maiden
Can Robynne and the sheriff outwit adversaries, uphold justice, and find their happily ever after? Find out in this steamy, suspenseful paranormal romance that corrects all the errors of the Robin Hood legends. If you enjoyed the humor of The Princess Bride and the action-packed romance of Outlander, you’ll love this fresh new twist on a classic, complete with brave knights, cunning bandits, fire-breathing dragons, and forbidden lovers.
Fair warning: No cliff-hangers, but this story concludes with a happy-for-now ending, only because the situation in Nottingham doesn’t yet allow more. Robynne and Daniel will get their HEA by the end of the trilogy, once the events of books two and three play out. I swear, it will be worth it!

A twist on the original story
Tempting the Sheriff is the start of an exciting new series by Anna Lowe. This book introduces Robynne Hood the outlaw and Daniel the sheriff of Nottingham, along with many other interesting shifter characters (I am looking forward to learning more about them in the other books). Similarly to the original tale, Robynne is giving stolen coins to the poor, but in this case they were stolen by her brother. Robynne and Daniel are fated mates but are on opposing sides, even though they want the same things. This ends with a happy for now (which the author has made clear in the blurb).
Overall it was an enjoyable listen. There is the danger, excitement and steam that’s always present in Anna Lowe’s books. The narration by Kelsey Osborne was amazing as always, and the addition of Chris Merlin works very well. Recommended.

Robin Hood But Not What You Expect
This is the story of Robin Hood, but not the story we all know and love. Robin is a woman, and not only that she’s a fox shifter. The sheriff of Nottingham is her fated mate and a dragon shifter. Are you intrigued good because you’re going to love this story.
Robin was forced to leave her home, and with nowhere else to go she joined her younger brother Robert in Sherwood Forest. Robert and his band of Merry Men were eking out an existence, living off the land and for the most part behaving themselves. That is until the day they decided to rob a stagecoach. They did this without Robbin’s knowledge or approval.
When this robbery took place, the new Acting Sheriff of Nottingham came riding across the ridge. Will he stop them or when he realises that his fated mate is close by and that Robert her brother is leading the robbers will he let them go?
Daniel, the new Acting sheriff lets them go and later meets with Robin, where he tells her he has only been sheriff for one day and has no intention of carrying on the cruel acts perpetrated by his predecessor. Can she trust him?
I’m not going to say anymore because it would ruin the story what I will say is that the story is one that is original, well written, and you will adore the characters. Not to mention the palpable steaming chemistry between the fox and the dragon.
I look forward to listening to the next book in this series avidly!
The narration is wonderfully performed by Kelsey Osborne, who has narrated all of the books I have listened to by Anna Lowe, but this time Chris Merlin joins her, the pair make a beautiful partnership and I look forward to hearing more books done in this way

Fantastic spin on Robin Hood story
I’ll be honest I absolutely love Anna Lowe and narrator Kelsey Osborne so I went into this not liking a non British person doing voices for Robin Hood themed book.
BUT as always Anna Lowe wrote a fantastic story but also the amazing Kelsey Osborne does her usual amazing job. This time she’s complimented by the lovely Chris Merlin. I’ve not listen to much of him but will now be looking out for his audiobooks.
Finished on a cliffhanger so cannot wait for next in series.

A twist in the tale
Who loves a good shifter story? Me, that’s who.
A great twist on the Robin Hood story.
The fox and the dragon, fated mates, one being the sheriff and one the outlaw, who robs from the rich and gives to the poor.
Robynne and Daniel are on opposite sides of the law, so will love prevail, of course.
I like that this story gives an HEA rather than have to wait until the last book, of course there is more to their story and I am looking forward to that along with the others in this series, especially Tuck.
Love the dual narration of each chapter.

Sheriffs and outlaws
This is the steamiest version of Robin Hood I've ever read, and God did I love every second of it. The shifter addition was beautiful, it really put a different spin on things. As usual this is every bit as good as all Anna Lowe's other series's, and once again comes with each of our much loved characters own stories in each separate book. My favourite character is in book three, which I'm excited to read. I absolutely love Robin Hood and have read and watched almost every versions, I would highly recommend this version to any shifter fans who don't mind some heated passion scenes along with plenty of humour. Also the female narrator is in ever one of the authors books, she does a fantastic job. The male is new and really compliments alongside the female.
