I’ve loved the series about the Lakes. This story wasn’t my favourite but it was a nice comfort of familiarity linking into the past characters and with a happy ending. This storyline will be triggering as it sensitively covers the loss of a child although well written by Jessica, as always. Glad there was a lighter ending. Still want to know more about all the Characters and how Rosie and Oliver manage the renovations of Willowdale Hall! And all who the characters who make this series what it is! More please!!

Jessica Redland never disappoints! The escape to the Lakes series is wonderful! I get to know all the characters so well and the story is told so well. The narrator reads it so well.

I love this series as much as all of the other series by Jessica Redlands! The performance was a bit off this time - pauses mid sentence where there shouldn’t be or wrong inflections. However, I love how easy these books are to listen to and always preorder so I don’t miss any!

It’s easy perhaps to think that Jessica Redland’a books are ‘easy listening’. Behind the lovely settings she tackles really serious issues and her characters are always well developed. For me, it took a while to warm to Mel but it is important that characters are warts and all people. There were a few glitches with the narration. It’s always lovely to have a catch up with previous characters. It fascinates me how the author must develop such a specific knowledge to make their characters realistic. Enjoyed the story very much.

Always sad when I finish a Jessica Redlands novel as I want them to go on forever. This did not disappoint and I hope it’s not the last of the lakes series.

This is the first book that Jessica has written that is a real weepy in parts.
This can be read as a stand alone although the previous three books help understand the relevance of the book.
Yes it’s a weepy however it’s a lovely storyline. Can’t say more otherwise will give it all away.
However it gets 10/10 from me.

A beautiful well written book of how life can be so hard losing someone, grief, family, architecture, passion, love and happiness in the end. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Well all of the books can’t wait for next book. X
