Summary
A Warhammer Age of Sigmar novel

Listen to it because
Subterranean labyrinths, battles against enemies and supposed allies, Stormcast Eternals in a desperate situation.... You'll experience all this and more as you prepare to discover the secrets of the Stormvaults....
The story
An ancient labyrinth of eerie subterranean ruins and creeping shadow, the dead city of Mordavia has long concealed a secret of unimaginable power. Now, as vast armies gather and war drums thunder, the perilous treasures of this cursed city are about to be unleashed. Lord-Celestant Kalyani Thunderblade leads her Celestial Vindicators into battle, determined to ensure that the city’s secrets remain forever under lock and key. Yet the odds are stacked steeply against her: plague-ridden legions of maggotkin, swarming tides of skaven, brutal greenskin hordes and mercenary Kharadron Overlords are all racing for the prize, shattering the sepulchral silence as they transform Mordavia’s ruins into a blood-drenched battleground. Worse still, something monstrous stirs ever-closer to wakefulness deep beneath the city’s buried streets. At the head of a desperate alliance, Thunderblade must battle twisted warlords, rising storms of dark sorcery and her own inner demons to achieve victory in Mordavia, lest she pay the ultimate price....

An ok story
The book has an OK but it is carried by the supporting characters and the insights you get into the cultures you get into other races and factions, My favorites where when we got some insights into kharadron overlords and the plague lord.
And the best part was when a Krule Boys leader referred to Stormcast Eternals as a “Hobgrot fondler”

Good story, disappointing narration
Story is good, and it's nice to see multiple races and their respective viewpoints.
The entire audiobook is let down by the narration. The delivery of the narration vs what's happening in the book always falls flat and emotionless. I realise this isn't a 40K book but it's still Warhammer and I feel it needs a more... oopmh, for lack of a better description.

The narration….
The narration was just grating, the characters were so self important and thin. Only decent characters were the Nurgle warriors…

We Fight! We Kill! We Win! For Sigmar!!
Those words are powerful and should excite the reader, sadly in this audiobook those words spoken by the narrator are bland and uninteresting, this book has it all Stormcast Eternals, Orcs, Skaven, Duardin, Blight Lords, a long hidden weapon of unimaginable power that everyone wants and will happily kill or betray you to get, but the narrator made this book boring, i don’t dislike the narrators voice but it’s not suited to AoS or WH40k books, this book needed Emma Gregory narrating, that would have been awesome
