Summary

A MASTERFUL THRILLER ABOUT FORGETTING, REMEMBERING, AND THE DANGERS OF BOTH... FROM THE CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED AUTHOR OF THE SUSPECT, THE SECRETS SHE KEEPS AND LYING BESIDE YOU

'A brilliant, propulsive writer. Pick Storm Child up, and I guarantee you'll go on to discover a rich and wonderful backlist' STEPHEN KING

'A razor-sharp and emotionally charged thriller that explores both the darkness of men's hearts and the resiliency of human spirit' LISA GARDNER

The storm is coming...

The most painful of Evie Cormac's memories have been locked away, ever since she was held prisoner as a child - a child whose rescue captured hearts and headlines.

Forensic psychologist Cyrus Haven's mission is to guide her to something near normality. But today, on a Lincolnshire beach, seventeen bodies wash up in front of them. There is only one survivor, with two women still missing. And Evie's nightmares come roaring back...

Whatever happened all those years ago lies at the core of this new tragedy. Because these deaths are no accident. The same dark forces are reaching out, dragging her back into the storm.

Evie must now call upon Cyrus's unique skills, and her own, in their search for the missing pieces of this complex and haunting puzzle. But will that be enough to save them? And who will pay for the past?

'Tension and tenderness - Michael Robotham is that rare thing, a writer who does both brilliantly. An utterly thrilling emotional ride' WILLIAM SHAW

'A modern masterpiece . . . As deep, dark and stormy as the North Sea, this is truly compelling crime writing' ***** Reader Review

'Robotham's storytelling is engrossing, capturing the shades of dark and light in his characters, with a fast pace and many twists and turns' ***** Reader Review

'Moving and emotional, breaking your heart and warning it at the same time. Another tremendous and well-written read which is action-packed, full of tense and suspenseful moments' ***** Reader Review

Amazing conclusion!

Quite the best series of books ever! Characterisation, storyline, with, pathos, humour, and tension. They have them all. And terrific narration. 5 stars are not enough!

great installment

I have thoroughly enjoyed all the previous books in this series and I was looking forward to this installment. I must say that I thought the story wandered a bit and I didn't always like the portrayal of the 'bit' characters. But those are minor gripes and as a whole it was a thoroughly entertaining book with a well rounded conclusion. Very much worth a read/listen

Brilliance!

I was delighted to “read” a new Michael Robotham novel. The storyline was intriguing. The best surprise was the absolute brilliance of the narrator! I am so glad he is so young: we will be listening to him for a long long time to come!! I simply loved this book!

A Must Read Book

I loved the previous two books in the collection before this one, but this book tops them both! A fantastic story from start to finish and one that I will definitely listen to again in the future. Definitely a ‘must read’ book!

Too political to what Michael Robotham belives, which is obviously mainstream media!

Loved all his books but not this one unfortunately his political beliefs about "asylum seekers" so called conspiracy theorists and other topics infiltrated the Evie and cyruss storyline and made me disappointed in him as an author who just follows and believes the general narrative. The book is still brilliant and shocking emotionally charged

Love love love

Absolutely brilliant!
Tied up lots of loose ends which was so satisfying but I feel sad, as I’m not sure if there would be another book there.
I love the narrator so much, I don’t know how he manages to do so many voices and not get mixed up, he’s fantastic.
This series has been so different to anything I’ve listened to so thank you Mr.Robothan!

I thought I wasn't going to like this latest offering Michael Robotham

Having read all of Michael Rs books and enjoyed the Cyrus series I found myself struggling a little with this. I found Evie's nastiness and brusque attitude hard although as the storyline had gone I guess it was expected. Anyway about halfway through the story got better.
I hope Michael R has more planned but this wasn't one of my favourites
