Un piccolo capolavoro dell'umorismo inglese che mette in ridicolo la paura tutta umana dei fantasmi. Alcuni uomini alla vigilia di Natale si siedono attorno a un caminetto a fumare la pipa, a sorseggiare abbondanti bicchieri di punch e a raccontarsi storie di fantasmi piagnoni o dispettosi. E' il momento migliore dell'anno per i fantasmi, e d'altronde se "è risaputo che a Natale tutti ne hanno già abbastanza di dover sopportare una casa piena di parenti vivi, senza bisogno che anche i fantasmi di quelli morti si mettano in testa di farsi una passeggiata", è anche vero che "i fantasmi vanno sempre a passeggio la Vigilia di Natale, e quando i vivi si riuniscono la Vigilia di Natale, finiscono sempre col parlare di fantasmi". Ascoltare questa divertente commediola interpretata dalla voce calda e umoristica dell'attore Massimo D'Onofrio è un po' come andare a teatro.

Sembra un libro "tutto d'un fiato. però adesso che l'ho finito, sarebbe stato ottimo un capitolo per serata.
