Summary
This stunning debut novel from Australian author Lucy Christopher generated considerable buzz for its nonstop suspense and breathtaking imagery. Sixteen-year-old Gemma is on a layover at Bangkok Airport, headed to Vietnam with her parents. Then the vaguely familiar Ty drugs Gemma’s drink and steals her away. Her head swirling in confusion, Gemma soon finds herself fighting to survive in the unforgiving Outback.

Really nice listen!
Easy listen and amazing voice. Story was good too, beautiful nature imagery and good characters. I would have liked a little more character development, but not to say I'm disappointed!

The Ending!
Quite a different take on an abduction story. It's written from the POV of the abductee Gemma writing a letter to her abductor Ty.
Stolen is a wonderfully written book, and even though Ty has done a very bad thing and is obsessed with Gemma, you can't help but feel sorry for him and hope for a happy ending for both of them. For me the ending was a bit frustrating. But I later found out this book is written for teenagers, so now the ending makes more sense. The only issues I had were that the narrator sounded a lot older than a 16yo, and I wish Ty's character was more developed, as I would have liked more information about him.
This book was recommended to me out of context, but I'm glad I read it anyway because it's a great piece of writing. Definitely recommend.
