Dreadful narrator

I struggled to continue with this book as the narrator’s voice was so annoying. It was hard to judge the story because of it.

Great story

Really good story, didn’t want to stop listening. Found the narration took a wee bit to get use to but the pull of the story helps to combat it.

Narrator is so important

This was a good story. Unfortunately it’s spoiled by a terrible narration. Early on in the book Coben has a character described as ‘speaking as though there was an explanation mark after every sentence’. That’s how this book is read. I really struggled to get through this book because of it. I did however work out fairly early on ‘who done it’.

Good Story but Terrible Narration

As with all of his books, this is a very good storyline. It’s a little bit slow to start and difficult to get into, and this is made more difficult by a less than average narration. It was the only one of the many books. I have listened to by the author, where I almost abandoned it after the first 20 minutes. Are very irritating, monotone voice, which will forever ring in my head, Orsova, bad case of tinnitus. Sorry, but I have to be truthful.

Not one of his best.

For me it took too long to get going, with the scene to be set for three different story lines, and even longer to pull the story lines together in any meaningful way. I almost gave up!
I also found it difficult to accept male characters with female voices. It didn't grip me like his books normally do.

Narration is terrible

I had to stop listening - the story was gripping, but the wooden narration made it unbearable. Inflections in all the wrong places, has just ruined it
