Mosab Hassan Yousef
About this listen
Since he was a small boy, Mosab Hassan Yousef has had an inside view of the deadly terrorist group Hamas. The oldest son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef, a founding member of Hamas and its most popular leader, young Mosab assisted his father for years in his political activities while being groomed to assume his legacy, politics, status...and power. But everything changed when Mosab turned away from terror and violence and embraced instead the teachings of another famous Middle East leader.
In Son of Hamas, Mosab Yousef—now called Joseph—reveals new information about the world’s most dangerous terrorist organization and unveils the truth about his own role, his agonizing separation from family and homeland, the dangerous decision to make his newfound faith public, and his belief that the Christian mandate to “love your enemies” is the only way to peace in the Middle East.

I ADORE this book.
Firstly, I have to say, the voice (although wonderful and emotion provoking) doesnt sound like it could be Mosab, but its okay. MOST IMPORTANTLY; I love the fact that he described exactly what happened, and didnt leave any detail out. The fact that he explained how the Bible touched his heart so much, and made him cry, made me feel like crying. You can tell how much he really loves his father even now, even though his father, cant see what a good son he has. Mosab still sees the goodness in his father. Hassan Yousef was once a little boy who loved his father too, but was taught that he was under "occupation". When Mosab tells you about the inside operation and behaviour of Yasser Arafat, it makes you even angrier at the fact that Arafat had the chance to make peace and a state for the "Palestinians" but for his greater hate of Jews, decided to kill his own people. I am so grateful for the fact that Mosab left Hamas and now Suheib (his younger brother) left as well. I pray that God pours out His revival and it touches Mosab's father heart and he accepts Jesus before his end comes, also his siblings. I pray God protects Mosab and his family wherever they are.

life in Palestine and Israel
A very interesting story of a life in Palestine and Israel. A man who looked through the horrors and seen the truth on both sides. He got out of the lies and changed his religion so everyone in Palestine now hates . his family stayed with him because of being family.

This is more likely to make me Christian more than the Bible would
I'm still not a Christian but I have a lot of respect for this man.
The pain he endured and the bravery he has shown is unimaginable. He delves into his life of a seemingly ordinary palestinian child to a young adult in a terror organisation and eventually defecting and doing what he could to save countless lives from extremism.
It is only unfortunate that we are living here today as of 2024, and the fighting has not stopped.
I am not a religious man, but this man here, his conviction is real and I believe he is doing the right thing.

Must listen story
Clearly troubled by a very complex and unusual life experience yet clear about the conclusions and decisions borne of the same.
A great book and food for thought.
